The POTD sites were started in 2009 with the intent of catering to a specific
niche in the webplace. Our goal was to have category-specific images (i.e.
animals, patriotic photos, etc.) that are of high quality as well as high resolution.
Images that would be suitable to print out or use as desktop wallpaper, and still
retain enough detail to be aesthetically pleasing.

No other sites that we are aware of on the Internet currently display photographs
with all of these attributes.

We retain those same goals on the San Diego Photo of the Day site, and seek
contributions from professional or hobbyist photographers who would like to
display their work on the web.

We will always list copyright information and credit the owner of the image, but still
make their photos available for download for personal use. Images may not be
reproduced anywhere else on the web or used for commercial purposes.

If you contribute an image, we are happy to set up a link to your website or blog
under the image itself, along with camera information and your name.

The primary reason our other sites have temporarily 'stalled' is the lack of quality
images to display. We would love to get exposure on other sites that offer
photographic equipment for sale or are otherwise viewed by photographers, and
will happily exchange links with them.

Please recommend us to your photographer friends who would like to see their
work displayed on the Internet!
